CSI 15.16 "The Last Ride" Review
Nick (George Eads) and Crawford (Alimi Ballard) are called to a CS where a woman who was earlier shown dancing is found covered in silver paint. Cue comments about the Tin Man and not finding the Yellow Brick Road and the Silver Surfer. Her TOD is between 12 and 3am. David (David Berman) washes her and Morgan (Elisabeth Harnois) takes samples of trace from her. Doc (Robert David Hall) tells DB (ted Danson) that COD wasn't blunt force trauma but asphyxiation, she was drowned in the silver paint. There was also a grill pattern on her back and this Finn (Elisabeth Shue) thinks could belong to a car, which she searches for online. Earlier Hodges (Wallace Langham) identifies the paint as chrome, but the more newer version with chromium dioxide. He tells Finn that the paint belongs to a flashy car and she's all over the case in her usual smug way. Ava's (Blair Bomar) parents are interviewed by Sara (Jorga Fox) and her mother, Ruth (Karen Sillas) says that she was wild and got into drugs and her step father, Duncan (Tracy Fraim) said she resented him by taking her father's place. Sara watches them hold hands, which seemed a little forced. Some drug dealer of hers came to the house once and Ruth asks if Sara has children. It's not right when a mother loses a daughter.
They find a car matching that description is owned by Aaron Derosa (Travis Schuldt) who turns out to be Ava's ex. He takes them to the vault, where his father kept all the classic cars. The one they're looking for is behind the curtain as work was being done on it and Finn finds it's the CS. Finn didn't see the blood on the figurine of the car before. There's also a tub of silver paint. The silver paint drops are followed to where another car, a Packard, was and that's now missing. It was a classic car and belonged to his father. His brother Carlo (Wil Travel) also comes in and they're arguing over whether to sell the collection or not as they both own half. Carlo tells Finn about their father, Alfonz Derosa and he was killed in the car by a hitman so it's worth plenty. Sara tells Aaron she's heard about that story. All I said was where's Greg (Eric Szmanda) cos he's all about the mob re his book and Finn asks him about writing such a book. He tells her about it and how Alfonz was in the car with his mistress and a hitman from another family in Chicago shot them both. A snitch in prison gave him up and the shooter apparently died in prison.
Finn only now notices blood on the car and there's a smashed car light. Also finding the heel of Ava's shoe. Outside where the other car was, Greg notices a pizza magnet. Finn doesn't believe the brothers, but Greg thinks the CS was too messy for them and why wouldn't they clean it up. Finn wrong as usual. Cos my first instinct was her mother and step father, they just seemed shady (does anyone still use that word? Ha.) Henry (Jon Wellner) and Hodges checked out the pizza place and brought back pizza as well as magnets. DB says no one invited him for pizza. As Hodges eats, he shows him that the magnet only sticks to one side of the fender and not the other side. That's why it fell off, meaning that side was recently repaired. Also finding that a car appraiser/mechanic also frequents the pizza place by the name of Bixler (Matthew Glave).
Sara talks to him and he lies saying he hasn't been there for the past two months. She tells him about the magnet and he then says he was there three days ago as Aaron wanted the car appraised as he had a buyer for it. Also whispering he was afraid cos of who their father was. Finn finds the sale online and he had a buyer who deposited $100,000 for it. It turns out Ava had a warehouse which could be the right size to hold the car. Nick and Crawford go there and find the car aswell as Carlo with the keys. He says he didn't kill anyone or had the car stolen. Ava used to go out with him too but she was messed up. He had a credit card for her so the bills came to him, so he knew about the warehouse. The car had sentimental value for him since his father took a ride in it with him the night of his death. He dropped him off at a diner and didn't pick him up. He was closer to him cos Aaron was too much like him and didn't get on.
Greg and Morgan process the classic car and she finds a piece of chrome under the passenger seat, as well as a fibre on the back seat. Greg commenting on the size of the backseat where you could have a picnic. Morgan saying Alfonzo The Vice wouldn't be thinking of that but he had his last ride there. Opening up the boot, they find the tarp in which the DB was wrapped up, as well as the appraisal report. A partial print is found on the report which is a familial match to Ava. Her mother wanted the car since she had a buyer for it, she borrowed the money for the deposit from a loanshark. She wouldn't kill her own daughter. As Sara says she would've been too valuable alive, but that she's seen it all before. They find prints on the headrest belonging to her Bixler, so they believe there was no buyer from Dubai.
Finn says that hemp wouldn't be used in the seats so it must've come from somewhere else. Telling DB she restored a car her brother used to have and to took the entire engine apart. Greg finds the chrome came from the headrest which was replaced. There was something there that the shooter wanted. This turns out to be the bullet. Ava used the appraiser to help her remove the car but he killed her instead cos she saw him replacing the headrest. Bixler was the shooter and he would've been 18. He tells DB and Crawford that Vera, The Vice's mistress was his girlfriend. Bixler confesses and Finn tells Greg that means the car is no longer evidence. They take it for a spin and the brothers have agreed to donate it to the mob museum.
Didn' think much of this ep, it seemed like everything was just fitted into the puzzle more so than usual. DB mentioning the evidence Greg wanted to show him looked like he was writing another mob book. Very flimsy, selfish motive as well for the murders. Nick had very little to do in this ep seeing as he'll be leaving at the end and that's going to come out of nowhere. Finn just gets all the lines and the smugness, whilst everyone else takes a backseat (no pun!) She really wasn't necessary for the show since they had enough of a cast to keep it going without her.

The Vampire Diaries 6.15 "Let Her Go" Review
The day of the funeral arrives and Caroline (Candace Accola) dreams about her bike ride and how her mother (Marguerite MacIntyre) was there for her to bandage her arm when she fell off the bike. Telling her that people die eventually, but not just yet and by the time she does, Caroline will be older and won't need her. She wakes to find Elena (Nina Dobrev) Stefan (Paul Wesley) Tyler (Michael Trrevino) and Matt (Zach Roerig) sleeping in the room. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is up trying to write the eulogy and can't quite manage it. He tells Caroline she wanted him to write it cos he didn't do it for his own mother, but she doesn't want to share with him. He then tells her it's only going to get harder after tomorrow. Yeah cos that's all she needed to hear.
Jo (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) is sick and thinks it's cos of food poisoning. Kai (Chris wood) turns up and needs help cos he's sick too and tells her it's not food poisoning. He needs her magic cos he was meant to merge with her and not with Luke, though he adds he's getting nicer too. She's reluctant to help until he tells her of the prison worlds that'll open and how they will all die and the coven will no longer be. Alaric (Matt Davis) tells her she doesn't have to do this and give up her magic, he'll be there for her if she wants to fight him.
Damon gets ready the next day and has a flashback to Stefan tying his tie for their mother's funeral, only he took one of their father's, which he wont like. He gives him his own and has to speak for her. Stefan asks him about Caroline and his feelings for her but he doesn't know what he should say but they need to talk about what happened. Caroline makes a list of things to be done and gives them out to everyone. She takes Elena to find a casket for her and meets a woman who tells her how she liked her mother. Elena tells Caroline there's three categories to put people in so that she knows what to say to them. Caroline tells her about kissing Stefan and she needs to talk him but Elena tells her to leave it for today. Stefan sees Caroline and she says they need to speak and it's an inappropriate time but it has to be done. He says they should leave it til later. Elena asks if she's okay.
Matt doesn't let Tyler in cos he's drunk after everything he's been through with Liv. He understands but this is about her mother. She's given a salute by the police and her radio is finally turned off after twelve years and four months, cos she doesn't answer it. Damon gives the eulogy, calling Liz Forbes his friend and friend to the whole town. He recalls her wanting to tell Caroline she's proud of her and he told her to tell her for herself, but she couldn't. She thought Caroline was extraordinary and he adds Liz was too. She was a hero to everyone and to him. Caroline sings and Stefan changes his mind about what Damon said to him, and tells him that. That they can't always find true love, that it may be messy, but it's better than nothing. He's going to go for it with her. The words came for the eulogy cos Damon realized it's not about him and cos he failed to give Stefan one for their mother.
Caroline tells Elena she's had enough and goes home. Elena turns up and says she knows Caroline is going to turn off her humanity. She did it cos it was too painful when she lost Jeremy. When she lost Damon and Stefan went off to Savannah. Elena tells her it's a mistake and she was wrong when she did that. Caroline wants to stop feeling too and that's what she meant about tomorrow and she's listening to Damon cos tomorrow's going to be worse and after that too. She snaps Elena's neck and disappears. Stefan is to late cos he would've changed her mind if Stefan had something different earlier. Well he didn't really say anything for Caroline to get that impression. Everyone else switched off their humanity and now it's her turn, thinking she can control herself as a vampire.
Matt wants some of the respect that the sheriff had and so wants to become an officer, he got a form for training school and got one for Tyler too. The look on Tyler's face. Bonnie (Kat Graham) has her magic back and she's ready for the eclipse and to return home. When she gets to the cave, she finds it's snowing and ends up at the house, where she reads notes about the aurora borealis and sees a picture of Damon and Stefan going back to 1903. The eclipse and the northern lights are both the same. Jo decides to give up her magic and lets Kai have it. They stop the prison opening. Bonnie performs the ritual but sees a woman there who she captures on camera. Kai whispers in her ear and she tells Alaric he said he's pregnant. Alaric wants to marry her cos he loves her. He bought the ring after Luke died and was deciding on the best moment to give it to her. She accepts his proposal.
Damon returns home and finds Bonnie in the kitchen with food ready. She shows him the video and he recognizes the woman as his mother. Of course as I said, as soon as she was mentioned, she'd turn up now. Damon and Bonnie hugging, guess she had to be the one who came across his mother and now Damon will have to face up to her and his mother issues. Can't tell if she's evil or just an ordinary mother. Though she was in that prison it seems, does this mean she was there for a reason and it looks like it's some sort of witch prison from what Kai said and cos she's in the same place they were.
Yes it's a TV show but giving a bit of a bad impression where it's okay for Caroline and anyone else to switch off their humanity after losing their loved ones. It's not something we can do in real life. Okay, some can by drinking and the like, but it's not a final solution, the pain will still be there.
The funny oment inall tis though was Elena getting ehr neck snapped by ehr bestie!

Revenge 4.18 "Clarity" Review
Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) sends the baby clothes away and Margaux (Karine Vanasse) tells her they were lovely. She should've listened to Victoria when she told her to end this revenge business, but she didn't, she also doesn't tell her that she lied about Emily (Emily VanCamp) pushing her, when Victoria says she wants Emily arrested for what she did. Victoria also mentioning the ground breaking for the hospital wing. Margaux does tell her about Lyman and how he was getting the flashdrive for her, but he was found dead and she's shed enough blood. Giving Victoria an idea of wanting her hands on said flashdrive. Emily drinks coffee as David (James Tupper) shows up with her paper. She tells him he's been doing that for a while now and wants to talk to Margaux but doesn't know what to say. He tells her to leave it alone. Ben (Brian Hallisay) comes down doing his shirt up and David realizes that Emily has been keeping her mind off things with Ben. He's made detective which explains the suit and tie and David leaves. Ben tells her his brother is coming down for his party and wants to meet his hot new girl.
Louise (Elena Satine) got back early from the funeral and is cooking and she hated how her mother and all those liars lied about Lyman and her mother spoke his eulogy like Margaret Mitchell. She thinks it's time they had a baby and they could adopt. Nolan (Gabriel Mann) is shocked at that cos he really doesn't want a baby right now and as he later tells Jack (Nick Wechsler) he wants one with someone stable and not her. Which she overhears. In the paper there's news about the hospital taking a bribe to name the wing after Daniel. The hospital board has decided not to name it after him and even when Emily speaks up for him, saying that she's forgiven Daniel for what he did to her. Victoria says she should've told the truth and she also has the blood of her grandson one her hands now and Emily is upset with that comment. Yet she didn't question why Victoria would say that now.
Nolan talks with Tony (Joshua Pence) about the daycare license which he'll sort out and he wants to have dinner with him. Nolan doesn't think he'll be free. Jack watches them and asks if he's told Louise about this yet. Nolan doesn't know how she'll react but Jack reminds him it's not nice lying and being kept in the dark. He should know, thinking back to Emily and Ben. Victoria walks into the men's locker room at the station and has words with Ben. She tells him he's dating someone who should be behind bars for fraud and he helped her with it. Oh you're one to talk Victoria with everything you're guilty of. If he doesn't help her out then he can wave his promotion goodbye. She looks at the Lyman file and sees that Louise was the last person to see him alive, as well as asking about his personal effects, noticing that the flashdrive isn't there.
Emily tells David she has to clear Daniel's name. Well his name wasn't that clean either after he shot her and she wants to make it right for Margaux. Come to think of it Margaux losing the baby could be seen as karma seeing as how Daniel made sure Emily couldn't have children of her own after he shot her. Just thought I' mention that. Jack wonders how Emily will be at the groundbreaking and at the promotion party. She wants him to change his statement regarding what happened with Daniel and she'll say Malcolm Black was after her and that she made him lie so he wouldn't come after her again, which he did. Jack refuses and Stevie (Gail O'Grady) says he can't do it either. She accuses her of being a train wreck and that she won't let her use Jack as collateral damage again. That Emily will always be alone and she'll make sure of it.
Victoria brings Louise some homemade lemon tart since she was there for her after Daniel. She knows Victoria's here cos she wants the flashdrive to hurt Nolan and tells her to leave. Victoria tells her she's wrong in trusting Nolan and asks if he told her what happened the night Daniel died. She shouldn't let them break Louise's good heart. Yeah that's why she went after Margaux and Victoria also. Stevie tells Jack there are legal ramifications for Emily's actions and he could be accused of murder and obstructing justice. He doesn't have cards left to play. He's the son of two alcoholic parents and asks if he's not using Emily as his scotch. Also wanting to know if Emily knows about how he feels.
Nolan meets Tony at the beach and Louise calls him but he hangs up. Then calls back telling her he's working back. Tony overhears him and says he won't be the man that comes bewteen them. He has to sort this out and then call him when he's ready. Emily meets Kevin (Christopher Wiehl) who's willng to dish the dirt on Ben, which she's eager to hear. He ask about her parents and she tells them they died in a car accident. Jack shows up and they have an intense conversation at the door. Jack says he can't help her and Emily reminds him they've done more than this. Louise asks Nolan what happened at the club and he should sit here and watch trashy TV. He needs to leave and tells him about Victoria being here with shop bought lemon tart. She sees a post about Nolan being at the beach party. Funny cos Nolan should've known he'd get in the press somehow.
Margaux's henchman turns up saying he's made progress on the matter has hired White Gold (Courtney Love) to take care of Emily. She doesn't want that to happen and he's gone too far. It's too late to call her off. Emily tells Nolan about Jack who thinks she should leave things alone. She needs Jack out of it and asks for his help. He tells her Emily wasn't made for good things but just to clear her father's name which she did. She should now live as a socialite. Stevie sees David at the boat and tells her about Emily. He says things are good between them but he tells her he knew about Jack and it's not a good idea. She gets frustrated and how he made the fist move in what happened to him, after he slept with Conrad's wife and should take responsibility for his actions. He cuts his hand on the knife.
Nolan tells Jack about Emily and how he saved her life, but they dragged his name through the mud. She needs to clear his name if it's the last thing she does. Margaux finds the assassin at the car place and tells her the hit is off. She doesn't do that but she likes strong women. Margaux knows her identity and Margaux threatens to send out an email to Interpol revealing her identity if anything happens to Margaux. Wow Margaux, sure you didn't want to wear higher heels, cos you sure couldn't walk in those shoes! Ha.
Nolan finds Louise floating in the pool and thinks she's dead. Let's face it, it'd solve his problem but of course it wouldn't be that easy. At the same time, Louise is now free to get her own revenge on Nolan for lying to her and at the same time on his friends too, including Emily no doubt. He's sorry their lines got blurred and their marriage was only ever temporary to help with her family, which they did. Louise says she'll call her lawyers in the morning. They'll always be friends and she asks if they can ever be anything else. Yes, enemies! An unstable woman scorned is even more dangerous!
Emily punches the bag when Ben asks her if she's coming. She decides to stay home and she tells him what she wanted Jack to do. She's trapped between two worlds and he doesn't understand that. Stevie checks on David whose hand is fine. She tells him that Emily is Jack's kryptonite, just like Victoria was his, but Emily's nothing like Victoria. Jack shows up at the groundbreaking cos he doesn't want her to do this alone. Kevin and Ben drink at the bar and my first question was what was going to come onto one of those TV screens, I mean they had enough there. Kevin thinks Emily's with Jack as they both appear on the news.
Emily mentions to the press how they know of the events surrounding the groundbreaking and how Daniel isn't to get the wing named after him. She says the truth is that she was attacked by Malcolm Black and Daniel saved her life. She made the story up to protect others, as Victoria and Margaux watch the news. She then goes on to add that her secret had cost the lives of many people she loved and admits she is David Clark's daughter. She finally admits she's Amanda Clark.
Bombshell dropped! As we know this was bound to happen eventually and with Emily doing it, she not only cleared Daniel's name but also made sure that Margaux or Victoria didn't have anything else over her. Also cos we know that is this is going to be the final season of Revenge. Loose ends had to be tied up. Even Emily mentioned to Nolan she's been doing this for four years. Don't know what else remains to be said here, but with Daniel's name cleared, it seems Victoria will still be after Emily for revenge cos of her grandson. She's not one to step down until she takes her down. But maybe Emily and Jack will get together, cos that's been on the cards for a while now.

CSI 15.15 "Hero to Zero" Review
A homeless man goes through stuff in an alley when he's jumped by a gang. They threaten him and eventually a masked man appears in a glow of light. He takes them on and shows them his taser as they go after him. Later Nick (George Eads) and Sara (Jorga Fox) arrive at the CS after his DB is found. As Nick removes the rubbish on the man's DB, he notices he's wearing a cape. Sara steps in some sticky substance in the alley and she asks him if that's a cape. He also finds a mask similar to Batman. Mitch (Larry Mitchell) brings Sara a backpack which contains a sketchbook and has a scene from the alley. As well as finding shoeprints indicating more than one assailant and also bare footprints. David (David Berman) mentions TOD to Nick and Sara notices a homeless man asking for his trolley. Back at the station, she gives him a pair of shoes from lost and found and also some food.
She questions Roger (Christopher May) and he tells her about the man saving him. He didn't hang around and ran off, but he recalls a red pick up truck. Morgan (Elisabeth Harnois) tells DB (Ted Danson) she found some granules stuck to the bottom of the shoe prints and DB thinks they got stuck there cos of the sticky substance and could be coffee granules. Greg (Eric Szmanda) shows him some security footage showing a masked gang smashing the windows of a store. He and Finn (Elisabeth Shue) process the CS and he takes shoe impressions. There's also white powder on the ground which came from the phosphorous lighting. Finn wonders if it could have prints, but then notices some blood on the glass.
Sara finds out DB collected comics when he was a teen and spent his last dime on them. She didn't have any such fantasy and was more of a science and numbers kind of person. She tries to show DB something from the sketch book, but Hodges (Wallace Langham) comes in telling them the ground trace was actually walnut shells, after telling them how long ago walnuts were discovered, at least have been around for 8,000 years. The shells were charred and had traces of calcium chlorate, when he leaves, Henry (Jon Wellner) comes in with a familial match to the DNA from the blood, belonging to a three striker, Martin Preach who has a son named Trey (Quincy Jones). Sara finally shows him the sketch which shows a gang member with a purple Mohawk, the same as in the mugshot.
Nick questions Trey and he says they saw him around when cruising the streets dressed in his costume and he wasn't all with it. When they tell him he's dead, he denies killing him. Morgan says that none of the boots match the ones from the store so they're looking at two different gangs in the same area. DB thinks she should look for Roger, the homeless man to see if he recalls Trey and his purple hair. In the alley they don't find Roger, but Morgan is confronted by two others wearing costumes. Greg holds a gun on one of them and says that they'd better stop unless they're faster than a speeding bullet.
They mention protecting the neighbourhood cos the police are all at the casinos and protecting tourists and find out their friend, Dominion is dead. They were looking for him cos he didn't return home and Morgan asks his name so they can inform his family. Brad Jeffries (Levi Fiehler). DB talks with his mother, Carla (Ely Pouget) and step father, Seth (Leif Gantvoort) (and could I now say that he was my suspect already). Brad got involved with the superhero side about a year ago and Tina (Tania Raymonde) and Scott (Greg Finley) were his best friends. They hung out in the basement. Nick talks to them and Tina says she was a Vic once, but Scott says he wasn't and he inflicted pain on others but this is his redemption. He sees more of his sketches and notices a red pick up in one of them They tell Nick about a man harassing a hooker and Brad helped out, then dented his fender.
Morgan mentions how there are plenty of superheroes on the Net and Hodges tells her and Sara about the walnut shells which came back to a pool cleaning company, Sundip Pool Supply. The calcium chlorate and shells are used to clean pool tiles as the walnuts are less abrasive than sand. Greg asks Doc (Robert David Hall) about Brad and he tells him he was alive after the beating at least for 60 minutes. COD was a hit to the back of the head by some object such as a club or baseball bat. Greg shows DB the marks on the back of Brad's neck and DB recognizes them as belonging to his own bat as shown in his skteth when he damaged the fender. Sara found charred walnut shells at the pool company and a demolition crew led by Tony (Dale Pavinski) were the only ones there. He also owns a red pick up. Nick and Finn head to his yard but they find him dead, wedged between his truck.
David puts TOD at midnight and Finn notices scratches at the side of the truck. Which Nick thinks could've come from Scott or Tina's suit. Sara talks with Tina who tells her she was here all night with Brad's mother but she doesn't know where Scott is. Sara tells Tina she should do something more like helping out at the shelter or helping at risk children. Greg and Morgan spoke with Tony's crew and four of them confessed to the beating but that's all. He was still alive. DB thinks maybe Tony's mask came off and he saw his face, so he came back later and killed him. But Morgan finds Tony had an alibi and was drinking.
Scott says he had gone to look for Tony and found him with the truck engine running. He reached out to feel his pulse and the blood must've gotten onto him. He lawyers up. Metcalfe (Joseph Patrick Kelly) hands them the baseball club found with Roger, who was threatening tourists, wearing a bin liner cape. Sara asks him about that night again and he says he found the club in an alley with a golden star. Nick tells DB that David's TOD was off by 18 hours cos the truck engine was running, which means Scott has an alibi. Hodges comes in mentioning trace from the bat which is all found in Ethiopian cuisine. He hands Nick an address near the CS. In the alley, Finn notices the golden star on a flag but the dumpster is empty. She also points to the camera. This shows Seth. See right again! ha. Tony approached him in the bar after he heard them talking about Brad. He wanted to teach Brad a lessen in the hopes of getting this superhero nonsense out of his system, cos he was 23 and living at home, so?
He joked about paying him $1,000 to rough him up and after some drinks this turned real. He found Brad in the alley and he made a mistake of talking about the gang which Brad didn't tell him of. Yes but Roger knew so he could'be made up any story about someone telling him. He tells DB that he hit Brad as an impulse cos he was going to tell his mother. But he's not a killer. Seth then saw Tony who got the chance to get more money from him, he rigged the winch cable so he'd get caught into it. DB adding the fist time was an impulse, the second time was murder, but he's not a killer. DB gives Sara a collection of his best comics cos she needs some fantasy in her life. It'll be their secret and she can still be known as a science and numbers woman at the lab. She thanks him. Nick's joke about him being superman, he already calls David, SuperDave!
This ep took me back to CSI:NY and their superhero episode, 2.19 Supermen, which was similar in many respects cos the hero in that was also killed, whilst out doing some good and prevented a man being mugged. Though that ep showed that the CSIs were doing good as they ploughed on doing their jobs. As Stella asked Mac if he ever pretended to be a superhero. Another ep where Sara shows more of her past and what she's really like and another locker room scene at the end. As DB says to her earlier, she's more into the right and wrong and back and white kinda stuff.
The Mentalist 7.13 "White Orchids" Review
Patrick (Simon Baker) signs papers at the lake for the cabin and is happy the place is his. Tork (Joshua Biton) tells the other agents to look for two bodies inside the burnt out house, but you know they'll only find one. As the camera pans out and shows Lazarus (Aubrey Deeker) running away. Patrick works on the cabin and Lisbon (Robin Tunney) arrives with lunch. He finds a perfect place where they can eat and she notices he's taken off wedding his ring. He replies that's cos he's not married. She notices the house also slants, he says the ground is a bit slanty but the house doesn't and it's like an optical illusion. He takes out his wedding ring and says he's been wearing it a long time, not only does it represent his past but also his future. He wouldn't have met her if it hadn't been for his ring and he wants it to be a part of their future. He asks Lisbon to marry him and she agrees. See that's what I said, that ring of his is part of him and he'll only take it off, to put it back on again, this time when he marries Lisbon. Patrick says he was nervous cos after all this time he still doesn't know her and wasn't sure what her answer would be.
Abbott (Rockmond Dunbar) wants to help out with the Lazarus case as he's still waiting to start hsi new job. Patrick and Lisbon announce their wedding and Cho (Tim Kang) tells Abbott he was right. Patrick tells them they're going to elope! Oh yeah and deprive us of a wedding! ha.
Lazarus/Joe picks up supplies from a store as Lisbon Skypes her brothers to tell them about her wedding. They want to come down cos they're family and she's their only sister and Stan (Derek Phillips) says she doesn't want them to come so they should respect that. Later Patrick pulls Lisbon's chair towards him and tells her it's okay she invited them, they're family. But she's despondent cos then the wedding will be too big and maybe they should invite a few other people too since they're not doing any catering or asking for gifts. Maybe 12 guests. Also some people from work. Patrick tells her he has to get her a ring and she says she already has one. He replies one for herself cos that's their ring. She doesn't want anything too gauche.
At the jewelle,r a couple want their grandmother's ring altered and Patrick notices that the jeweller just swiped their ring and replaced it with a fake one. Telling them he pulled a French drop. He pulls out his FBI badge and tells them what he's done. He's got it in his right hand and why is he afraid of opening his hand. Which Patrick tells him to do and there's their ring. He tells the jeweller he's looking for a ring and with real diamonds, nothing gauche or he's going to turn him in. There Patty still saving the day for everyone.
Lisbon invites Abbot to the wedding and he offers their house for it. Wylie (Joe Adler) tells Cho he didn't know about the wedding but Cho says he knew. Wylie wants to be transferred to a cybercrime unit and he's not good at this since he messed up with Lazarus. Cho tells him it can happen to anyone and that Vega wouldn't walk away from a challenge. Cho wants him to stay as he slaps him on the head. Hey Cho using a Gibbs' slap from NCIS!! Ha. Cho needs Wylie to check with the autopsy report cos the Mayor needs to be certain they have the killer before they can give a press conference and the only way they can do that is if they have the coroner's report. Wylie reports there weren't any intact body parts and most of them were of Joe Snr.
Lisbon invites Cho to the wedding and she asks him for a favour, she takes him along to pick out wedding dresses. They make her look short, a snow cone, or like a 'slutty elf' oh Cho where'd you get that one from? Ha. She needs something off white and vintage. She asked him for his honest opinion but didn't know he knew so much about fashion. His mother was a dab hand at sewing and without using a pattern. Lisbon remarks her mother had a sewing machine but it was always in hock. Dan (John Marshall Jones) the anchor man is leaving the station when Lazarus kidnaps him. He asks him for his wallet and keys and he thinks he'll let him go after Dan asks him for his licence. But he stabs him instead and uses his phone to call the FBI and of course he had to get useless Tork. Well he was useless with a big mouth. He asks for Patrick and he tells him he'll be away for a few days and that he's actually getting married and then he drives off. I mean the guy is a TV man you don't tell him stuff like that!
Patrick and Lisbon get the marriage licence and he adds Emily Hamilton's (Joyce Guy) name, she's the judge. She asks to see the ring and thinks it's a fake but he tells Lisbon it's real. She's shocked and can't accept it cos it's too much. Patrick tells her she doesn't need to accept it, it's hers. Lisbon invites Wylie to the wedding and he says a lot of people are talking about it. He asks if there'a gift registry or trousseau but Lisbon doesn't know what that is. Cho brings a laptop and it's Rigsby (Owain Yeoman) and Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti). She's ecstatic to hear from them and invites them to the wedding too. Lisbon then starts to count the number of people coming.
Lazarus heads to the county clerk's office and wants to fill out a licence. He then looks into the tray and finds Patrick's licence when the clerk gets a call. He then leaves after saying he's been stood up. After hearing about the DNA belonging to Joe Snr. Cho believes that Lazarus is till alive and asks Abbott for his advice. He wonders if he should tell Patrick and Lisbon and Abbott doesn't think they should cos Lisbon will cancel the wedding and join the hunt. They know he'll come after Patrick. Abbot also says they should have some agents at the house and Tork comes in, telling then that Dan's been reported as missing but he spoke to him at the same time and told him about Patrick's wedding cos his caller Id checked out, so Abbott tells him to prepare a helicopter as they may need it. It was good to see Cho actually behind the desk and settling into his new role. Also Abbott repeats what Cho said about how they're FBI and they can handle it.
Patrick asks what they were talking about, Abbot says nothing. Then he sits down and asks him if he's coming back to work cos if he's not then they have some legal issues to deal with as Patrick recalls that napkin. He's getting married, building a house and then he doesn't know what he's doing after that. He loves Abbot for his honesty. As he walks off Abbot stops and says he was lying and tells him about Lazarus. Patrick hugs him.
At Abbott's house, Lisbon and Wylie talk about the guests and how they've increased cos she didn't send out printed invites. Also Abbott is covering all the catering costs and costs of the wedding as his gift to her. As he shows her a menu. Lisbon's entire family arrives and Stan brings his fiance. Lisbon is overwhelmed with her family. Patrick finds Lisbon at Abbot's house and she's in tears. All she wanted was a small wedding and now everyone's here. Her family wouldn't even notice cos they've discovered the mini bar. Patrick says they should marry at the cabin and he can call the judge and tell her. Lazaus hides in the judge's car boot. Also telling Lisbon about Lazarus and she's angry he didn't tell her.
Wylie tells Cho about the court clerk calling about a burnt man who was checking out the forms. He knows all the forms and they don't have the venue just the judge's name. Patrick has his back to he Airstream as Lisbon walks out in her wedding dress. He says they should promise to look on the bright side always. They enter the cabin and Lazarus follows them with a gun. Inside it's empty but then agents swoop on him. Including Lisbon with her gun and Patrick sneaks out behind her and hands her the bouquet, taking the gun from her. They are married and he lifts her veil and kisses her!! Swoon! Ha. All the guest are dancing as Patrick and Lisbon sit by the lake. They're happy and she says she needs to tell him something as she has her hand on her stomach. Patrick thinks she's joking and after all this time he should know her better. He's happy at the news and they hug.
SO it ended. Not what we would've expected seven years ago, but still it was a happy ending. Though I would like to know what happened with the list of names though and am guessing Patty stayed on with the FBI cos of the thrill of the chase, as he told Abbott and that the list didn't come into it. Still would've been good to get some closure on it. We needed another ep for that instead of wasting two on Lazarus. Didn't like that at all. I still think there could've been plenty of potential in the Red John story and finishing it off so abruptly made me feel cheated. There clearly couldv'e been more made of this instead of fizzling out the way it did. I can still dream there's a smiley face somewhere in that wedding scene! Ha. Maybe in the sly the twinkle in Patrick's eye as he hugs Lisbon! So I'm a cynic, but to me Patrick will be Red John and wish they had the sense and guts to carry that through!
The wedding was sweet and Cho had great taste in picking out her dress!! So it started with Patty losing his wife and daughter and ended with him gaining a new wife and a child on the way! Also with a serial killer, though he wasn't in Red John's league. Still something more on Red John would've been good. Hey if Patrick was Red John, you can he could fulfill his psychopathic tendencies again and have a new wife and child to menace!! But at least the ep got Cho to smile and to laugh and boy did he laugh!
Now all that remains is to see the cast elsewhere and especially Simon Baker!!
That title, White Orchids, all I could think of was that awful movie Wild Orchid (1989) and only worth watching for Bruce Greenwood! Ha.

The Mentalist 7.12 "Brown Shag Carpet" Review
A woman named Susan (Jennifer Christopher) tells her husband Bill (John D'Aquino) that there's someone sitting outside the car and he keep watching her. Bill remarks that serial killers don't lurk in cars. He goes outside to check it out and finds a man in a car at the back, but calls him a drunk. When he gets back in the front door is open and Susan is gone. Patrick (Simon Baker) takes Lisbon (Robin Tunney) to the woods and that cabin to surprise her. He bought it and he wants to fix it up whilst she's at work. He needs something to do and she asks him if he's decided he's leaving. He doesn't know yet. She tells him she has needs too, like knowing he won't leave again. He replies he's committed and the house is a good place to start. As we know this is Patty and he has other things in mind to show his commitment. Lisbon also wants to know if he's taking off his wedding ring cos he's been wearing it a long time. But he's used to wearing it. Lisbon is called and Abbott (Rockmond Dunbar) tells her they've got another one.
At the CS they find Susan and she's had her fingernail taken too. She was shot in the chest and Patrick tells them the killer isn't being careful but rather playful. He also sees a mark one arm which looks like an IV line and the killer removed some of her blood but they don't know why. Cho (Tim Kang) brings in Tork (Joshua Biton) from the Santa Fe office, he used to work at CBI and he's worked with Patrick before, so he knows what he's like as he says, you have to keep your hand on your wallet when Patrick's around. Lisbon says the profilers aren't able to put anything concrete on age etc of the Vics and Patrick says it's more likely what he's killing for.
He thinks the killer needs the blood for something and all of the recent bodies had blood removed but Lisbon adds the older bodies were too decayed for them to find any marks. Wylie (Joe Adler) mentions vampirism as a possible online theory. Tork comes up with the plan to make Patrick appear to the media as a fake psychic and the serial killer might get taken in. Patrick walks away as he hates that idea. Cho reminding Tork of Patrick losing his wife and daughter. He makes himself a cup of tea and Lisbon tells him about Gabriel's autopsy which shows he had small lesions on his brain, which made him hallucinate. Patrick thinks that's why he believed himself to be a psychic. Lisbon adds there's no such thing. As she also says sorry for mentioning his ring.
Wylie tells them Austin PD may have shot the serial killer but it turns out it was just a man collecting bottles from the trash with his wife, who didn't speak any English and was shot by the homeowner cos everyone's on edge with the serial killer on the loose. Patrick wants to go along with Tork's plan but Lisbon is adamant. He thinks it's the only way. At the TV station, Patrick sits next to the TV anchor, Dan (John Marshall Jones) and tells him about the birth of his baby daughter named Alexa. No one told him that. Seen this scene before haven't we a few times in the show. A nice continuation to round things up and coming full circle too. As we recall this is how it all stared for Patrick and the show. He then does the same to some women hosts after telling one of them about her aunt. Tork comes in to relieve Lisbon and she goes home. Why Patrick's Airstream though and not her own house.
At the radio show a man named Lazarus (Aubrey Deeker) calls in ad he's the serial killer as he knows things and talks about pain and Tork calls to have the call traced. Patrick says if he knows something about the case then he should tell them. He talks about the other psychic and he was a fake. Abbot saying no one else knew about the word being etched on Gabriel's arm. Wylie traces the call to a landline and when they arrive there, they find the phone's been rigged. He believes in spirits and wants to know who haunts Patrick. Abbot tells them to come into the office and Patrick calls Lisbon. She gets to the Airstream and asks if he left the door open. He tells her to get back but she insists on checking it out. Yeah very clever Lisbon, how long has she been an agent for, it could've been rigged for all she knew. Inside it's empty and she thinks he left the door open. So how come all of a sudden Patrick's lost his memory and doesn't recall if he closed the door or not.
He gets into the car with Tork and suddenly the car is rammed. Patrick is abducted and Tork is taken to hospital. He is handcuffed to the table with a pillow over his head. Abbott says everyone is going to be working on this and he apologizes to Lisbon for not listening. But that Patrick is the best person to exploit the situation and he was right. He talks to Lazarus who offers him some water. He tells Lazarus it's his father's place cos of the furniture and could use some modernization. Patrick tells him this doesn't work the way he saw it on TV but Patrick isn't a liar. He pulls a gun on him.
Tork returns and Cho tells him it could've happened to any one of them. Wylie has been looking into the blood aspects of the case and has found a bookshop called The Grimoire, which Cho tells Abbott is a magical textbook. Wylie thinks they should check it out cos that's what Patrick would do. As he says, usual things would give the usual results, dead. Patrick tells Lazarus he was raised by his strict father after his mother died and he ate alone cos he hated the sounds people made when they ate. Lazarus wants to contact someone, but Patrick says there aren't any spirits around him. His phone rings and he leaves for a job. Patrick asking him for the bottle of water. He takes the cap and gets a nail out of the table which he uses to undo his handcuffs. He looks around the room gathering Intel. Such as a credit card bill and opens the door to find a skeleton, that of Lazarus's father with blood on it.
At the store, the woman, Kelis (Kiersten Warren) says she was arrested cos she told one of her friends about the Santeria ritual and they cut up one chicken. Wylie mentions human blood and also that if she helps them with a name they'll help her with the Austin PD. She agrees to help by giving them the IP address of something called Blackmoore and Wylie asks Cho if he did good. Wylie finds there's plenty of discussion about blood rituals and some months ago there was a discussion about harvesting blood. He found a college professor named Alan (Tony Pasqualini). The most common use of the ritual is binding the spirit to a DB.
Patrick finds a box with a photo and fingernails inside it. The professor s brought in but he's lawyered up. Lisbon tells Abbot to let her talk it him. She says he doesn't care what kinky stuff he's into all she's interested in is getting her friend back. Even if he wants to get her fired she doesn't care. She'll tell all his colleagues about his disgusting activities. He finally gives her a list of eight names. Cho finds that the professor's credit card shows he was out of the country for two killings. Patrick is back in his handcuffs and tells Lazarus that Big Joe, his father is here. He hopes he feels better and isn't hurting him anymore. Patrick tells him to stop doubting or the connection will be lost. Patrick mentions a lake called Rickasee, Lazarus corrects him, Pickaseee. He then says he needs to rest for an hour before he can continue, asking for some gum. He then gets free of his cuffs again and turns out the light in the boiler before sticking gum to the lightbulb.
Lazarus tells him there's a voice in him which he has to satisfy and he has to get blood. Cho and Lisbon speak to Rita Martinez (Ivette Gonzalez) who is an apartment manager and asks about Joe Keller. He emailed her about doing exterminator work for her. Wylie finds Joe Snr was a serial killer, or suspected of being one by Austin PD. His house was on Lake Pickasee. Lisbon goes to check it out. Lazarus returns and Patrick tells him his father wants to see him. He opens the door and asks if he smells gas. Patrick gets out of his cuffs and Lazarus switches on the light, finally the house blows, just as Lisbon arrives and that's what happened in Fire and Brimstone, when Lisbon arrived at Patty's house when he had the five RJ suspects gathered there. She finds Patrick inside and tells him to never do that again to her
Lisbon asking him if he's bought her another horse in the beginning. It was a pony. So Patrick gets out alive and what's the betting Lazarus survived. Well it's not just the name you know, ha, he has to otherwise there wouldn't be much they could've down in the final ever episode. Okay so I was wrong about Red John, as mentioned in the review of the previous ep, which is a shame cos there were enough clues and red herrings to have gone back to that connection, but that route wasn't taken. Still as I said before this does come round full circle in psychics and fake psychics were mostly the staple of the show. But why the mention of Byzantium in the title, unless the red was a reference to blood.
Still can't see Patrick in that cabin even if he now wants to be in the great outdoors. It's not just Lisbon either, though she's probably happy just being with him. I've reviewed this in two episodes cos it's easier that way even if we did get it all in one episode.
Patrick on TV was done in season 4 ep, Blinking Red Light. One nitpick though is how Patrick was associated with Red John all those years, appeared on TV and on the radio, not to mention that big trial when he allegedly killed Red John and hey no one recognized him now. Boy Austin must be a small place!! ha. Also he was at the press conference Gabriel gave at the FBI building too.
John D'Aquino in a small part here, you may recall him as Frank Lamotta from Quantum Leap, Jimmy's brother. I used a quote of his in my Quantum Leap book introduction.
