Revenge 2.19 "Identity" Review
Emily: "A person's true identify can often be difficult to discern even to themselves. Causing one to question their character, their calling, their very existence. For most, time provides clarity but for others these questions remain unanswered. For an identity cannot be fully defined when it is a guarded secret."
Emily (Emily VanCamp) must get Nolan (Gabriel Mann) out of jail and she needs his help in taking down the Falcon. For as we know, the Falcon is responsible for framing her father, Padma's death and is an integral part of taking down the Grayson's. Emily talks Nolan round when he says he's not in the best to handle going up against the Falcon, but it's his best way of getting revenge for Padma. Revenge being the operative word. He goes up against the Falcon and gets into the firewall. Coming up with a message for Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) reading 'Sloppy,' across the fake hospital records showing Victoria terminated her pregnancy.
This is what she shows Conrad (Henry Czerny) and he wants to use it in the interview he's giving to Nightlive, live on air which he believes will help him garner the governorship. She doesn't want this aired and despises Conrad for even suggesting she drag up this past part of her life. Emily's plan works as Nolan gets to meet the Falcon at an arcade and challenge her to a game of Streetfighter. If he wins she'll help him and erase all the files on him. Naturally Nolan wins and gives her a flashdrive, with Emily snapping a photo of her. Turns out the Falcon (Susan Parke) is nothing but a girl after all.
Conrad brings the press conference to the mansion and gets Victoria to sit in on the interview. Daniel (Josh Bowman) is also interviewed about how he became CEO by removing his father. He just puts it down to bad press. Also putting the ball in Emily's court by asking Chung to ask her about their engagement. To which Emily is very receptive much to Victoria's chagrin. As the Falcon hacks into the computer, she uploads info about Victoria's pregnancy onto Juju Chang's tablet as it's revealed Victoria had her baby. Toppling Conrad's chances of success. Falcon calls Nolan who tells her she plugged the virus flashdrive into her computer, as the FBI approach to arrest her. Real name Edith Lee, she was part of Grayson Global, an employee who was needed for framing David Clarke so they looked inhouse.
Emily finds her photo on the one at the retreat and finds she was the unknown girl. She gives Nolan the privilege of crossing her off the list for Padma. Daniel gives Emily their engagement ring and wants her to marry him, wanting to spend the rest of his life with her. Aiden (Barry Sloane) pushing her to accept by placing the ring on her finger as she will use him to bring down the Grayson's. Would have been great if they were setting it up for Aiden to be Victoria's son since he and Daniel being related would make for some great scenes, not least so between Emily as part of the triangle. That will mean she'd be in love with both of Victoria's sons so which would she choose to bring down. Or maybe go running off to Jack (Nick Wechsler) but he's disgusted with her, especially after seeing her with Daniel. She tries to explain but he doesn't want anything to do with her and no longer wants her as Carl's godmother.
Daniel meets Takeda (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) and wants info on Aiden, his records when he used to work for him. Aiden interrupts their meeting and is surprised to find him there. They later meet for drinks and he wants Aiden to return to Japan as Daniel will find out about his past since he hasn't changed his name. That was cos he was looking for Colleen.
Jack has his own agenda with Ashley (Ashley Madekwe) as he sees Conrad with another woman whom she says is Stoddard's wife, Allison (Jessica Tuck). He doesn't think Conrad is having an affair with her but something is going on since he's meeting with her secretly. Ashley can tell if Conrad is lying by his tell, it's in his eyes and if she could get back in with him she'd be able to find out what's happening. Which is what she manages to do after the fiasco of the interview saying she can help him gain his lead after all the hard work she's put in. Jack tells Declan (Connor Paolo) he's got his own agenda for Ashley.
Declan was meant to meet Charlotte (Christa B Allen) to help him write his essay but she veers off with Regina (Seychelle Gabriel) and goes off the rails again, really. That's all she needs a distraction, what is the point of her anyway since that's all she gets up to. They pose for a camera which later shows her kissing Regina which Declan sees. I'm fed up with Charlotte she's just a waste of space when it comes down to it.
The entire story of the Falcon was a bit of a letdown, being underground for 20 years all of a sudden she surfaces and then gets brought down in an instant. Not by Victoria of all people but by Nolan, which is understandable. Thus leaving Victoria to recruit Nolan as her new hacker in finding her son, Patrick. Conrad asking Victoria that if she's thinking of ending it off her balcony he can help. "If you're thinking of jumping, allow me to assist you." Hmm, Victoria said something similar to him when he was at the beach a few eps ago.
Suppose the best part was that Aiden finally saying Emily will realize revenge isn't really satisfying but he'll be there to make sure she's okay when she finds that out and pick up the pieces. Though he neglected to tell Emily about Takeda being around, so much for trust and that he also wants out of the revenge game.
Nolan's middle name is Leslie. Don't know what Ashley is up to, but clearly she's using people, like Jack to get back her own position with Conrad and seems to be playing both sides.
SO Victoria wore the Special K red dress for the interview, big mistake, ha. Charlotte had no qualms about using the Grayson name to get into the club, just earlier on she reiterated her name is Clarke.

Once Upon A Time 2.6 "Tallahassee" Review
This episode focuses on background about Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and her life after she left the orphanage. As Emma, Snow(Ginnifer Goodwin) Mulan (Jamie Chung) Aurora (Sarah Bolger) and Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) try to get the compass. Hook wants them to decide who should accompany him and they should fight it out amongst themselves. Well he was angling for a catfight. However Emma decides it should be her, as always she gets the final say. Snow doesn't want her to go cos she's new here. Hook needs his, er, hook and needs Emma to wear a magic bracelet to help her climb. Emma wants Mulan to cut the beanstalk if she's not back in 10 hours and Mulan gives her some poppy dust to make the giant sleep. Whilst climbing they get to talk about love. He can see she hasn't been in love cos he's been to Neverland and saw it in the Lost Boys, in their eyes. They had the same look as her.
Emma has a flashback to stealing the VW, aka Lovebug which we don't know about yet. When she gets in she meets a man in the back. After being stopped by the police she realizes she's just stolen a stolen car. They start stealing together, a Bonnie and Clyde life and get close to each other. He shows her a wanted poster with his face and name, Neal Cassidy (Michael Raymond-James). He stole some expensive watches and hid them in a locker. That's their plan to head to Tallahassee foiled. She thinks they can go anywhere if she gets the watches and they sell them off. Neal decides to sell them and meet her later. Whilst he leaves he's followed by someone who he thinks is the police. Turns out to be August (Eoin Bailey).
August tells him how he was put in charge of looking after Emma, she has a destiny to fulfil and won't be able to do so if he stays with her. Asking him if he believes in magic? Then shows him something. So what was that then, can't be his typewriter since Neal changes his mind so quickly and agrees to leave Emma alone but gives August money for her and the keys to the car. He changed the VIN number. Emma is arrested with the stolen watch Neal gave her and is jailed. Someone sends her the car keys so she'll have a car and a baby when she gets out. We have to ask if he was Bae. Also he's the same man in the opening episode who was sent the postcard. Which was sent by August as he said he would.
They manage to send the giant (Jorge Garcia) to sleep and search for the compass. Emma saves Hook from a tripwire and Hook thinks she's making a move on him, saying she shouldn't stand on ceremony next time.
Emma: "Don't think I'm taking my eyes off you for a second."
Hook: "I would despair if you did."
The giant wakes and comes after them with Hook getting trapped under the ceiling that falls on him. That's right Hook, stand around and watch it fall. He grabs her and she wants to go cos she didn't kill his family. Then makes a run for Jack the Giantkiller's sword. Well he was a bit useless. Emma threatens him with the sword after he falls under his tripwire trap, it's poisoned. He says humans killed them all and Emma can believe that he may be telling the truth.
The giant gives her the compass cos she didn't kill him and lets her go. She asks for another favour to keep Hook her for another 10 hours. As she handcuffs him, so much for trusting him when she shook his hand. Would he have doublecrossed them? She also sees his 'Milah' tattoo on his arm (hah just for me!) and realizes Gold/Rumples was behind Hook losing his love and not just his hand. But why have Hook chase after the most mixed up, emotionally redundant woman out of all of the ones he could have. Emma doesn't love, forgive, listen or do much of anything else easily, except act hastily, one reason why I haven't warmed to her character.
Snow gets Aurora to sleep by saying she'll watch over her just as Charming (Josh Dallas) used to light a candle whenever she'd have a bad dream. Aurora has a dream about being in a red room with red curtains and surrounded by fire. The same dream Henry (Jared S Gilmore) has in Storybrooke, as Charming lights a candle for him. So is this dream about Cora or Red?
Emma asking if they should settle down in "Neverland?" No coincidence that. August referring to himself as Emma's "guardian angel." As for the little snippets you have have missed, the Apollo chocolate bars were from Lost, as was the giant. The dreamcatcher Emma finds in the motelroom was also the one Neal had in his apartment in the first ep Broken. The envelope with the keys was sent from Phuket, that's where August said he'd been in The Stranger from season 1.
Were my eyes deceiving me or did Hook's eyeliner appear to have lessened since our first meeting with him?! Also Hook taking one of Rumple's phrases: "Tick tock!"

Doctor Who 7.13 "Nightmare In Silver" Review
The Doctor (Matt Smith) Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman) and the children, Artie (Kassius Carey Johnson) and Angie (Eve de Leon Allen) arrive on a planet at the futuristic theme Park Hedgewick's World of Adventures. Where they encounter Webley (Jason Watkins) and also a group of soldiers who have been sent here to implode the planet if the Cybermen wake up. They are the punishment squad and are sent here for punishment. The Doctor shows them his Psychic Paper. Webley challenges them to a game of chess and Artie volunteers but the Doctor wanted to play. The Time Lords invented chess. Webley will give a penny to anyone who can tell him how it's done. Angie guesses smoke and mirrors. And Porridge (Warwick Davis) is revealed to be controlling the Cyberman.
There are also Cybermites which get into Angie's phone and turn Artie and Angie into standbys: "please standby to be upgraded." The Doctor gets invaded by these Cybermites also as Angie is taken and he assures Clara he'll get her back. Clara is in charge and they must get to a good position to hold down the fort, viz, a castle. The Doctor becomes upgraded too, and he has a fight between himself and his Cyborg/Cyberman self. As the Cyberman gets inside his head. We see visions of past Doctors and he threatens to regenerate himself. Then recalls that certain elements such as gold, cleaning fluid, can stop the upgrade. So he sticks a piece of gold onto his face which works for the moment.
He bets against his Cyberman self if he wins a game of chess he'll let the others go and that's when the fun begins. Okay not so much fun but at least this episode was a different story if a little in the Willly Wonka vein. The Captain (Tamzin Outhwaite) is able to arm the bomb with her voice and not just a code and Clara is left in charge so she must follow her orders.
The Cyber-Doctor knows who Clara is and is hoping to convert the Doctor into a Cyberplanner. The Doctor thinking he can't be upgraded or affected since their technology will only work on humans, however this was not the case. As he begins to become converted. The Cyberplanner knows about Clara who's called the 'Impossible Girl.' But yet again any revelations about her are given a further backseat. Until maybe the final episode, or maybe not.
This episode gave Matt Smith the chance to show his acting skills once again as he passes between the Doctor and the Cyberplanner, a bit ruthless and also how at one point Clara asks if he can prove who he is; going on about her beauty and how he has feelings for her...whilst writing a message down for her to hit me." Of course that's what makes her realize it's not really him, he'd never say that.
The Cybermen have been ugraded and can move quickly and stealthily and nothing seems to phase them as they pick off the soldiers one by one, including the Captain so she can no longer activate the bomb. But Porridge can, or rather since he's the Emperor which Angie worked out. All he needs to do is say his name and the bomb is activated as his ship will now detect him and transport them up.
Cyberman have indeed upgraded themselves, with a little help of Neil Gaiman, they can now turn their heads 180, also remove their hand and stop a woman from screaming. Wasn't that hand ploy seen in season 5's The Pandorica ep. The Cybermites as the Doctor mentions are a spin-off of the Cybermats but the Cybermen are still a bit slow on the uptake as they stomp around to yet more music from Carry On Screaming. Yes I have to mention that everytime we get a Cyberman episode! It doesn't sound sinister at all, just laughable! Also they seem unbeatable as they can adapt to their surroundings and any weapon going for that matter. Just how many Cyberman were meant to be taken out with that gun. Seems the Cybermen have evolved but technology to fight them hasn't. As everyone was to be "incorporated into the Cyberiad." I know everytime the line "you will be upgraded" came up I immediately thought of "you will be assimilated." Reminiscent of the Borg from Star Trek.
Clara once again asking for the Doctor to prove it's him, "Do you think I'm pretty?"
Doctor: "No, you're too short and bossy and you're nose is all funny." Well that's one in the eye for Clara after making comments about his big chin! ha. Oh and about the Cyberplanner saying she wears short skirts which are too tight, I said that too, since she's been in the show, she's only worn skirts or dresses.
Wondered where the TARDIS was when the planet was blown up, but the Doctor asked for it to be brought aboard the ship just as I thought that. Porridge asks Clara to marry him and become ruler of a thousand universes, something Angie would happily do, but Clara refuses. It's not her. So it seems he is left alone as he said he would be.
When they arrive back home, Clara will see him again on Wednesday and he says which Wednesday, gone, coming. He will find out about this "Impossible girl." Here's hoping. Haven't done too much of a detailed review here as I usually do with the show since I think it's one where you just sit back and enjoy the ride instead of reading about it. Me I'm off to watch it again!
Think they also missed out on the chance to get more from this episode by rushing it so quickly, a two-parter would have been better, let's see in place of the dismal The Rings of Akhaten, that was easily the least fave ep of mine this series. W could have relished the chance to see Matt Smith so deliciously haunting in portraying the Cyberplanner as he honed in and out of himself with a few hits across his face. There was so much more that could have been done. At one point it seemed as if Matt was speaking like David Tennent especially when he mentions his "Allons-y" phrase.
Webley had one of those fiendish ventriloquist dummies on display in the wax museum from The God Complex.
Oh and I wish they'd come up with something other than "the impossible girl." Reminds me of season 5's The Impossible Astronaut! Like Clara's some off-shoot from that or even from River Song or something. New word anyone?

CBS Cancels CSI:NY
It was on the bubble season after season since season 7 so it came as no big surprise CBS would cancel CSI:NY after only 9 seasons! Somehow it was always on the cards and it was obvious they wouldn't bother matching it with CSI:Miami which managed to get 10 seasons. Everything comes down to money with these networks as we know and it's fine to renew shows that no one is really remotely interested in, but a show that fans have a vested interest in year after year is just thrown on the scrap heap without a second thought to fans!
It is unbelievable how networks never take into account the shows that matter, the feelings of their viewers. Right now I'm really disgusted and disappointed that we never got to say a proper goodbye to the show. It may not have ended on a cliffhanger, but at least one more season would have prepared us for the inevitable. (Aside from the fact Channel Five chose to hold back season 9 until later in the year, instead of showing it in January or February like they used it.) It will be all the more poignant when it returns to UK screens for the airing of season 9 for the final time.
This was my favorite CSI show, hey I even wrote a book on season 1, I loved it that much! New York Minutiae: An Unofficial and Unauthorized Guide to CSI:NY

AJ Buckley tweeted: "Really can't believe it. So bummed." Which sums up the sentiments of all fans.
Great show while it lasted and will miss it immensely! Along with the cast: Gary Sinise, Sela Ward, Carmine Giovinazzo, Eddie Cahill, Hill Harper, AJ Buckley, Robert Joy. You done us proud!!
The Mentalist 5.21 "Red and Itchy" Review
Lisbon (Robin Tunney) approaches Patrick (Simon Baker) in the attic once again as he stares out of the window this time round. No mention of knowing it was her out there this time round, though she has been calling him. She walks in saying it's a case and he's not working on one, also asking how his board is going. Well it would be going if he could get some work done, like radio silence for a week. She tells him LaRoche (Pruitt Taylor Vince) has asked for him as his house was broken into. He shot the burglar and one of them got away. He didn't say anything was stolen. Rigsby (Owain Yeoman) stands around with his dog and doesn't want to give it up. Patrick steps over the DB and finds he had pills as Lisbon suggests he may be on drugs. He was taking ibuprofen thus he probably had rheumatoid arthritis. LaRoche refuses to go to the hospital until he speaks with Patrick. To tell him his Tupperware box has been stolen. Probably by someone he's investigating; a leak at the CBIt. He promises o help him without revealing what was in there.
Lisbon overhears him it appears and actually Patrick doesn't know what's in there. She knew about the box since Strawberries and Cream when Patrick told her. He reminds her about getting the thief, Culpepper to break in and Lisbon reminds him she punched him and had to undergo anger management classes for six months, as she hits Patrick. La Roche thinks he knows what's in the box but he doesn't. Brenda (Rebecca Wisocky) speaks with Lisbon about giving a press conference to reassure that the CBI officers aren't in trouble, approved by Betram.
LaRoche mentions the cartel criminal, Miguel Leva being in hiding after no drugs were found at his warehouse and also shows Volker's photo again cos it's relevant here. Just as I mentioned that LaRoche was shown in the Behind the Red Curtain episode since he'd have more to do in the show. Volker had a secret phone and had been receiving calls from the CBI, but couldn't be located from where.
Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti) finds the criminal Scott Saynay (Mark Dippolito) 9 years ago raped and attacked LaRoche's mother. Which is why LaRoche tells Patrick his mother will also be grateful. She killed herself later thus Van Pelt thinks he may have kept her blood cos it was the only thing that was found on his clothes. So incase Saynay got out he'd have that with him still to use. Saynay has been freed but no one knows where cos the files have been sent out.
Lisbon questions the burglar's wife, Joanne Parsons (Meagan Fay) who tells them he was a locksmith and maybe someone forced him to open the safe. Patrick later wants to talk with her too and looks at Parson's collection of safes. So someone had to take over from him as he had arthritis and couldn't use his hands. Patty noticing the kitty and picking it up, he places it in the safe with Joanne saying she doesn't know the combination. But uses her skills to crack the safe. Thus she was her husband's accomplice. She dropped the Tupperware box off into the park as arranged.
When Patrick and LaRoche arrive they find the box gone and Cho (Tim Kang) finds a newspaper which had a story about Parson's and safes. The managing editor was Brenda Shettrick. Cho cracking a joke about it being a 'safe bet' she was involved. Patrick laughs at that but Cho can't see what's funny. Lisbon gives the interview but the reporter, Mason Braverman (Mike Doyle) asks about Leva prompting Brenda to stop the interview. Later Patrick uses the same ploy to catch Brenda redhanded. By telling her Lisbon has arranged for Mason to be present at a rapid response team raid Leva's house. She keeps wanting to use her phone to warn him but is stopped. Until she forgets her vest and returns to the van where she's filmed warning him. Liked the way Patrick talked Lisbon into going along with his plan, that Brenda gave her away to Volker and "for once in you life Lisbon, don't be the voice of reason, be the voice of wrath."
Lisbon: "How do we get the bitch?"
Patrick reads her and she claims he knows nothing about her. She came here wanting to write, had romantic notions of meeting someone but nobody loved her. She couldn't write, liked coffee and horses and a managing director of a paper is higher up, well connected. She fell in love with power and made it to the CBI to rub shoulders with the bigwigs. She wants her lawyer. Rigsby finds the box in her desk drawer, would've thought he'd look there first. He's tempted to open it and Cho says he doesn't want to know what's inside. Patrick stops him, it's not his to look inside. That was nice Patrick reprimanding Rigsby like a little boy, ha. Also Van Pelt was right it was animal inside the box and not vegetable as Rigsby thought. Who'd carry round food for 9 years!
Patrick returns the box to LaRoche and he thanks him, their arrangement is over now. Patrick hopes not. Still thinking Patrick knows what's inside, is a reminder of how low men can go. LaRoche: " hold this box as a warning. It reminds me of the depths a man can sink if he lets himself...it reminds me of my mother." This should have an effect on Patrick cos he's willing to sink to such depths in his endless search for RJ. Maybe he's warning him it'll always catch up to him in the end.
Earlier Patrick telling LaRoche he doesn't think he's a monster for keeping what's in the box. Also they have a conversation about Patrick having to tell Lisbon what was in the box, cos she's his partner and LaRoche understands about loyalty and friendship. Later Patrick tells Lisbon he needs to work uninterrupted.
Lisbon takes the address of Saynay and finds he can't talk. Someone cut out his tongue as his mother (Meg Foster) tells her. That's what's in the box. There was the feeling that Saynay may not have been guilty of the crime he was accused of, what if his tongue was cut out for other reasons and what does that make LaRoche. He tries to speak to Lisbon and that look on her face was as though she thought the same. Then again maybe it was cos she knows what's in there now and Patrick still doesn't. What would he have thought of LaRoche now if he did, would he still say he's not a monster? At least we got that reveal about the contents of the box even though we won't get a Red John reveal anytime soon. No mention of Van Pelt and Rigsby being together either.
Also in Strawberries and Cream, LaRoche tells Patrick "that is private," referring to what's in the box. Here Patrick says much the same to Rigsby. It's great the way Patty has this whole other side to him, one where he's helpful and understanding of people and doesn't overstep the mark, that he's not always condescending. Also LaRoche saying to Patrick that they don't see each other as friends. Especilally after he thanks him and goes back to calling him Mr Jane.
In the beginning LaRoche knows Patrick didn't take the box as his "puppet mastery of me ends if it becomes public knowledge."
Patrick: ""I never thought of you as a puppet."
LaRoche: "You ever thought of me as a friend?"
Some excellent lines here such as LaRoche telling Patrick that too many high profile suspects were getting out of being arrested. He didn't notice. LaRoche: "because you stop at nothing to close cases for your team."
Patrick: "Thank you."
LaRoche: "Other CBI agents have principles."
Patrick: "I leaned into that one." Yes but not all of them, what about this CBI mole still around on RJ's side.
The clue was in the title as to what was in the box, did anyone get it, red and itchy tongue! Also the fact that Saynay didn't speak whilst in prison and why his cellmate ran off when he found out they were investigating the case for the box's owner. Wasn't Brenda already revealed as the leak back when they caught Volker so why was she still at CBI, not to mention why LaRoche didn't know about her. Yet here Lisbon says they didn't have anything to put her away and they still don't.
Also a coroner scene for them this week as Patrick seems interested and Lisbon, coffee cup in hand doesn't want to look inside Parson's DB at his heart! Showing yet again she's not into that gore. Be relieved she didn't faint again, ha.
Patrick's comment when he wants to know why Lisbon is being interviewed: "Sacramento's most eligible singles or should I say sexy spinsters of Sacramanto." His comments to Lisbon are getting so risque and she seems to like them too. Brenda telling Lisbon she should be reading blogs!! Yeah Lisbon! ha.
Did anyone chuckle at Saynay's name, i.e. say nothing, nay as in no say, no speak, no tongue to do so, well it was rather funny! The writer subtly getting that one in.

CSI 13.11 "Dead Air" Review
The CSIs investigate the murder of a prominent news anchor, Theresa Shea (Danielle Bisutti) whilst the lights went out in the studio. There are many suspects as she wasn't liked and she was found to have been stabbed in the base of the neck, something which David (David Berman) describes to Sara (Jorga Fox) as 'pithing' which sounded funny especially if you have a lisp. Thus they said it a few times. This is what they used to do to frogs in biology and the girls hated doing it, so he had to. She was found at her desk. DB (Ted Danson) sums up the investigation using TV speak" If it bleeds, it leads." An ep of the Mentalist was also entitled this, where they investigated the murder of a reporter and Patrick (Simon Baker) did that great scene behind the newsdesk!! DB asks Sara what the team is working on, Finn (Elisabeth Shue) is working on a DB burned in a fire. Nick (George Eads) on a B&E. Anyway each of the team is sent to interview the suspects. Also Vartaan (Alex carter) turns up after quite an absence cos Brass (Paul Guilfoyle) wasn't in this episode. DB comments they have a "locked room murder with a million witnesses" but the witnesses wouldn't have seen anything during the blackout either.
Morgan (Elisabeth Harnois) talks to Denny (Lenny Jacobson) who used tools on the set and she gets a little nervous around him. Greg (Eric Szmanda) talks to the make-up guy/assistant Chad (Jacob Zachar) who also has sharp objects in his bag. Rainy Days - not her real name she says (Abigail Klein) the weathergirl is questioned by Finn who is surprised she has a lot of meteorological knowledge. She has a PhD and student loans to prove it. She wanted to take over Theresa's role of anchor as did Ella St James (Spencer Grammer). She was the reporter broadcasting from outside as they were training for the occurrence of a weather condition converging from two fronts.
Sara is called by Gil plenty of times but she hangs up each one without answering. Including when she's in autopsy. Doc (Robert David Hall) finds she had cheek implants, was botoxed and the wound at the back of her neck has the presence of a green paste. The wound was caused by a knife. Which Hodges (Wallace Langham) analyzes and comes up with chromium used for sharpening blunt objects, such as knives, as he demonstrates to Greg, with the use of a piece of leather. Nick finds an empty coffee cup outside as the broadcast van is driven up with Ella and Robbie (Richard Blake). She wants to get an interview with Nick but he's collecting evidence and refuses. Robbie knows every inch of the studio and where to hook up the van for electricity, well he would wouldn't he. Rain brings in a recording showing Ella faked the outside broadcast since the weather map shows where she was located was meant to be in darkness, but the video shows the moon behind her. Morgan talks to Denny again and asks if it's possible to tell where someone was located when they were broadcasting and finds Ella wasn't where she said she was.
Ella says she wanted to take over from Theresa but it didn't work out and she as removed as co-anchor. She and Robbie admit to having an affair and so were at a motel together. Also Theresa was very secretive and was working on something since she used to take her bag everywhere with her. DB and Sara check out her house and Sara describes it as being a bit like her's. Not very lived in. Until she gets to the kitchen area where she finds lots of clippings and paper stuck on the walls and windows. DB finds a notebook in shorthand, DB knows as the outmoded Gregg system and Sara notices the wineglasses. Which Henry (Jon Wellner) analyzes.
The clippings relate to an arsonist who killed people by his fires and is a cold case Theresa was working on. The arsonist was never found. DB decides to find out what happened to the power source and finds an exploded transformer which was destroyed by a fire. As well as the pieces of a mobile phone and dynamite packaging. Sara works on putting together the phone as there may be prints on it and DB puts together the label for a manufacturer's serial number. The fire was triggered by a signal from the phone which took time and as DB says "patience."
Sara decodes the shorthand and Finn helps out, she's got nothing else to do and sees Sara still isn't answering her phone, as she brings up NTSB guy from last ep. Sara telling her nothing happened between them but she doesn't want to pick up cos Gil wants to talk and she's afraid of what he might say. This leads them to Finn's DB who was a military man and the only other one at the station with such connections was Denny. Whilst DB watches the news Sara says she doesn't want to talk about her personal life and notices Rain's dress. There's a part missing in front of the screen since it's got green on it. When DB, Vartaan and Morgan arrive at the station, Denny runs away and takes his knife with him. Morgan gives chase and he runs into the press outside. He loved Theresa and doesn't want to go back to prison so he kills himself. Knew that was coming.
Henry matches the DNA on the glass to Denny who was having an affair with Theresa and in the flashback it appeared she was using him to get info out of him. Thus she made the connection between who the arsonist was. That wasn't difficult since he was my suspect from the outset. I know I should stop doing that when watching, but that's what makes it fun. DB takes them back to the station as they re-enact the murder at the CS. Sara is the Vic and he gives her a yellow flag which the killer must remove. Morgan is Denny, Finn is in Rain's position and Greg is in Chad's place, as he gets the coffee cup and goes to deposit a sample in it. EEww, never consume anything you don't get yourself! DB is in the studio with Vartaan, who counts them down when the lights are off. None of them reach her in time, except Sara finds the flag is missing. That's cos DB took it and Vartaan didn't even realize he was gone.
Fred (Daniel Roebuck) killed her cos she found out he was the arsonist, he was reporting that story so was first on the scene. Also the military man knew that too which is why Fred killed him and set up Denny for Theresa's murder. He wouldn't have killed her cos he loved her. Fred claims self defence but Sara tells him he left a partial on the transformer which matched his index finger. DB "Oops."
Sara answers Gil's call and he asks if now is a good time to talk...wonder what that was about then. They can't really be breaking up after it took them so long to get together, yeah when he decided to leave. We got to hear Gil's (William Petersen) voice this episode which isn't quite the same as watching him on screen.

The Vampire Diaries 4.21 "She's Come Undone" Review
Have to say this title kind of had me laughing, really it sums up Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Katherine. They both hate each other and whilst Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) recruit her to help them with getting Elena back her humanity, she schemes to let Elena go and run rampage in an orphanage for all she cares. Then Elena gets her humanity back, turns on her feelings and the first thing she decides is Katherine was to blame for everything that happened here so she's on a quest to kill her now. Stefan asked her to focus on one thing to help her get over her guilt and he focused on her. Thought for a second there she'd have focused on Stefan himself, especially the way Damon was looking at her, it was almost like she was going to throw her arms around Stefan any second. Ah poor Damon gotta feel for him, he really did look like he had the rug pulled from under him. Then to add insult to injury Katherine brought up that whole line of Damon never getting the girl, as if he hadn't had that rubbed in his face all through previous seasons.
Caroline (Candace Accola) thinks she may be able to get through to Elena by giving her real blood not any of that vervaine laced imitation, ha. But she doesn't cos Elena plays spin the bottle and tells her she tried to kill her, was mean to her so why is she still here. Finally Caroline gives up and decides there's more important things to do, like planning to graduate. She's always prepared for school stuff, she's even ordered Matt (Zach Roerig)and Elena a cap and gown! Which Matt can't believe cos Rebekah (Claire Holt) turns up and blabs that he's failing in his subjects. Funny moment when Rebekah offers to let her compel him into cheating with his work and getting into college cos he doesn't want to be left behind. She wouldn't leave him behind. She offers to help him through until graduation to make up for what she did on the bridge.
Damon and Stefan carry on with their attempt to make Elena turn it on by using fear. Seems tying her up in a chair, removing her daylight ring and letting the shine sun through didn't help either. Come on you didn't see the ropes would burn. It doesn't work as she gets loose and throws back the curtains and burns. Hey she got that ploy from Damon in season 2 As I Lay Dying, when he wanted to end it all cos he was bitten by Tyler and was dying. Realizing this won't work for her. They bring in Katherine cos she'll be willing to do anything, use all forms of torture to bring Elena back. That backfired bigtime since she's more interested in finding out what Elena said to Elijah which made him dump her and leave for New Orleans. Then she leaves the door unlocked allowing Elena to escape.
Damon comes up with the idea of using Matt to guilt her into her humanity. As Elena feeds off him several times over, Stefan stops her and Damon threatens to kill Matt if she doesn't come back. She should recall him as everyone's favourite boy growing up with all his dreams and his life ahead of him. But she doesn't care. Damon snaps his neck in front of her when she calls his bluff. "What's one less busboy." Oh Damon, so deliciously cruel! Elena can't believe it and finally feels for Matt. Especially when Damon shows he's wearing the resurrection ring. She feels emotion now, she feels joy he's still alive.
Well that's Elena back then to cause moer problems for all as she goes after Katherine. Funny since Bonnie (Kat Graham) is hiding from Silas (Scott Parks) until the full moon when she can perform the spell and open the veil to the two worlds, calls Katherine to get Silas's tombstone from her. Katherine wants to know what's in it for her. Silas can't get inside Bonnie's head anymore cos she's seen his face. He however is on the search for Bonnie so becomes Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and appears to Caroline telling her why he left for New Orleans, admits he's Silas after she realizes he was listening to her conversation from earlier on and stabs her with a stake. Then he appears as Matt and Caroline fears for her mother (Marguerite MacIntyre).
She drives home and thinks she's okay. Bonnie arrives and tells her she's not her mother who has been killed by Silas. Leaving Caroline to pull up all the stops as a medic and bring her back using her blood. Bonnie leaves with Silas as he threatens to harm all her friends. She then gets Katherine to agree to the tombstone in return for her freedom. She'll get Katsia to reverse the spell, as Katherine realizes Bonnie doesn't need the full moon for the spell and can do it anytime.
A bit of a hit and miss ep in terms of Elena and Katherine to the point where they were so similar it was a bit pointless having them both in the show. No, really, couldn't be bothered with what happened to Elena. Particularly since the Salvatore's are both still pining over her and all she wants now is revenge. Even when she found her humanity by using Matt of all people, nothing against him, but they don't usually do much with him in the show. That was a bit of a letdown and seemed a bit of a hasty way to bring her back. Think this ep came a bit undone!

666 Park Avenue 1.12 "The Elysian Fields" Review
Jane (Rachael Taylor) meets with Hayden (Teddy Sears) at a diner to tell him about her engagement to Henry (Dave Annable) and that she can't see him anymore as she's keeping her meetings from Henry as it is and she thinks Hayden is in love with her. He tells her he knows someone in the FBI who can help decipher the code to help with the journal. She already knows what it says and it keeps coming back to one word: "conspirati." Also that Harland Moore is alive and is at the Drake going by the name of Phillip Corey (Richard Short). As Jane meets with Hayden her apartment is ransacked as two men search for the journal. When she arrives home, she finds them still there and they demand the journal. She gives it to them. Thought she'd have put up more of a fight, or at least tell them it's somewhere else. But not to be since there wasn't much time left to go into all that before the final episode.
As they leave one of tem is caught by a pair of hands from the floor and is pulled in. The other one gets away. Jane meets with Corey who tells her nothing much really. Louise (Mercedes Masohn) wakes up in Corey's apartment and realizes she's made a mistake as he wants to go for a fourth round. Oh stop calling everyone "doll." She's ashamed of herself for what she's done. Brian (Robert Buckley) searches for Louise as she didn't come home the night before and Alexis (Helena Mattsson) tells him they're meant to be together, not him and Louise. What they did meant nothing and he was angry at her, it shouldn't have happened. Brian realizes Louise has been unfaithful as Corey walks into their place using the keys Louise left behind between the sheets. Brian is disgusted with her, well he can talk, how many times has he been with Alexis!
Brian returns to find Louise packing and wants to leave but pleads with her that they can make it work. This leads Alexis to drug Louise and threaten her with a kitchen knife. Telling her what she ran over that night wasn't a dog, but her. Brian walks in to try and stop her and Louise who couldn't move five seconds ago now hits Alexis with a poker. They can't go to the police since she's got a record for drugs and assault and won't believe it was an accident. Seems like these two actually deserve each other don't they. They've both been unfaithful, had their problems and still can't let each other go. Also it appeared all three of them were in some cheesy play Brian had penned!
Henry tells Jane he blabbed to Olivia (Vanessa Williams) about their engagement beforehand even though she wanted it kept private but Olivia helped pick out the ring. So she's throwing them an engagement party. Leading Jane to recall her father and wishing she could see him. Henry uses Gavin's Merc to pay Nate (William Sandler) a visit. His last name is McKenny and Jane's is Van Veen, so whose name did she take?Breaking the new of their engagement to him. He's happy but can't see Jane. He tells Henry how Jane was a baby when her mother died, she was killed in the bathtub and Jane was in the crib when he came back. Wasn't that a replay of Jane's great grandmother getting killed too. Not in the bathtub as we recall Kramer killed her, stabbed her? Was it the women's lot in this family to get killed off. Leaving us more questions as to why?
Jane meanwhile thinks Hayden is involved and was behind the journal being stolen, so she follows him to a place known as The Elysian fields. She asks what that is and she's invited up where she meets the man who stole her journal and Hayden. As well as Eunice (Elizabeth Morton) Corey's granddaughter. Hayden is part of the Conspirati and is there to protect Jane. The Conspirati is a secret society who basically were started bu some priests in Rome after they believed the papacy was taken over by evil. The priests were killed in 1542 but one survived. They oppose the Order of the Dragon. Eunice needs to know what Corey is doing in his apartment.
Jane breaks in through the air vent from the utility cupboard and takes a photo of the Dragon mosaic on the floor. She hears weird noises and has a nosebleed, prompting the Dragon to come alive. Kandincsky (Misha Kuznetsov) has interrogated the other man who stole the journal and shows Gavin (Terry O'Quinn) the tattoo on his neck. Gavin knows he's part of the Conspirati too. He wants to take care of them but he'll handle Hayden. As Kandinsky sees Jane and Hayden together. Hayden needs to protect Jane after she sends him the photo she took and heads for the Drake where Gavin confronts him. Gavin promises he'll protect Jane and Hayden tells him Corey is Harland thinking this will save his life, but it doesn't since he's swallowed by the wall. What did he really think Gavin would just let him go. Eunice told him Hayden wouldn't be coming back if he went. Also the way Kandinsky just shot three people before they could shoot off one bullet was a little ridiculous. Seems the Conspirati weren't trigger happy enough to be quick off the draw.
Jane sees Corey at the party who wasn't invited but he knows what she did to the Dragon. Telling her back then women weren't independent and knew their place, just like his wife who's been dead forty years. Jane knows Henry went to see her father who decides to show up here. He tells her she was a baby here and they used to live here, but not about her mother and why he wants her to leave here. Well what was the point of coming as it seems we'll probably get all this wrapped up in one episode, that is if we do get a conclusion. You'll also recall a few reviews ago I mentioned that Hayden would turn out to be someone else after all. Though we weren't meant to think he was one of the good guys. Jane also told him she's embarrassed about what she said to him cos she thought he wanted her. Hey he did.
Jane tells Henry he's the constant in her life and we see Hayden calling out to Jane from withing the wall. Is she going to dream of him and get him back I wonder?
As for Corey well he gets Gavin all tied up with vines from the Dragon as he stands over it. Gavin stole the Drake from him and he wants it back. Begging the question why Gavin didn't recognize him. For a moment it appears Gavin will get his comeuppance but as said it's not so easy to kill him. This time Olivia turns up to save the day with that red box of theirs. Telling Corey to let Gavin go and he can have the heart of the Drake, contained in the box. He opens it up and is sucked into it. Gavin welcoming him to his new home. So Olivia will do anything for Gavin even letting her daughter go wherever she ended up. She's mentioned this week as Henry tells Olivia Laurel e-mailed him to say she's in San Francisco. Olivia doesn't react, oh she's cold!
So there you have it, one more to go and I can't help feeling we'll still be left with loose ends. It's obvious this Conspirati was a last minute thing and this new addition to the story seems rushed. What was the point of them if they were so easily defeated and why does Gavin want Jane? The question being Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? which wasn't answered in the episode of that name.
Gavin to Hayden when he cocks his gun, "stop acting like you're in some western." Gavin hates westerns. Which is exactly what Kandinsky was engaging in when he shot three people just like that. Oh Jane leaving her phone behind now for the party when that's all she needed at the Hallowe'en party, was just plain ridiculous and utterly cringe worthy! What she didn't need it now!
The Elysian fields is from Greek mythology referring to the afterlife where mortals who were related to gods and heroes were granted entry, as Hayden explains to Jane. Also Gavin and Corey talk about gods and how Corey's gods deserted him, leading him to lose the Drake.
As they leave one of tem is caught by a pair of hands from the floor and is pulled in. The other one gets away. Jane meets with Corey who tells her nothing much really. Waiting For The Sky To Fall - Richard Grieco
Musical tastes and trends tend to vary from different eras as these are the times we live in and that's how I'd describe my taste in music too: varied, eclectic, never the same. I buy an album, CD cos I like the songs or the artist or both and sometimes on a whim. So when Richard Grieco released his debut album Waiting for the Sky To Fall back in 1995, you could say I was amongst the first to snap it up. Okay I had German connections! But also gotta thank RTL4 in The Netherlands, not only did they show Booker un-encrypted on satellite, but they also played the video of Waiting For the Sky to Fall, so at least could watch that and wear out the video tape. I still have it along with my Booker eps (yes on video! SO?) At least the original songs on the show and the theme song, Billy Idol's Hot In the City, are still intact, since DVD/song copyright made it difficult for these to be transferred onto the DVD release. (In 2009).
The CD is still available if you look, sites such as amazon and ebay always have a copy or two, there are also some sites where you can download individual songs. Good news is Richard uploaded it to iTunes so it's available to a wider audience now. For those who missed out, would love to relive their misspent youth, something about that phrase which makes me refer to it over, never mind. I'll think of a different one eventually.
It may not appeal to everyone and some may even call it an acquired taste, with which I don't agree. Yeah I admit my reason for getting it was cos it was Richard's creation, so I was/still am into anything he does. Been a fan for 25 years and counting - quarter century kind of sounds cool. Dedication, obsession who cares!
Richard has a distinct voice, he sounds a little Bryan Adams to me and a lot of his lyrics are meaningful, others are just rocking. Many of the tracks were used in Richards show, Marker which was enjoyable too and would have run for a lot longer, but them's the decisions of Networks, they get it wrong 90% of the time! As Fox did with Booker! Tsk.
My favourite song is the title Waiting for the Sky to Fall for various reasons, it can pick you up when you're down, at least it worked for me, sending me to a whole different thought plane. Music is often called a drug, but one that doesn't cause you to have withdrawals unless you're waiting around for more songs. The album was successful in its native Germany where it was released and most of Europe. It's edgy with a sophisticated style and sound.
The Track I believe In You for some reason took me back to being at school, college, it was a song about being young and carefree. Lasting/losing friendships.
Okay there are a few out there who wanted me to mention Lay Your Body Down cos it sends them to a whole other plane, one of fantasy and dreams (wet) ooh! There done.
You will know Richard from 21 Jump Street and spin off series Booker. As well as various other films, movies such as If Looks Could Kill (aka Teen Agent in UK), Mobsters. Currently he's concentrating on his art. His paintings are terrific, check out his site http://www.griecoart.com
and follow on Twitter @Richard_Grieco and Facebook.

Revenge 2.18 "Masquerade" Review
Emily: "All too often, we mask the truth in artifice, concealing ourselves for fear of losing the ones we love or prolonging a deception for those we wish to expose. We hide behind that which brings us comfort from pain and sadness or use it to repel a truth too devastating to accept."
Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) preens herself in front of her mirror after she receives a letter which Ashley gives her as it was delivered to their campaign office, dated 1973, which has been addressed to Victoria with Conrad's (Henry Czerny) name crossed off. It's an RSVP saying they will be at the masquerade ball. Daniel (Josh Bowman) also tells her about his keeping away from Emily (Emily VanCamp) even though he wants her by his side, he doesn't want to endanger her after the Initiative sent that photo. She also tells him he's inviting Sloane (Kate Herman) from his past which he isn't happy about as she doesn't really approve of any girls he's been with. Cue Ashley (Ashley Madekwe) ha. Well no one approves of her.
Emily turns up hoping to get an invite from Victoria but she refuses. Actually Emily was practically begging, that did not become you Emily! As most of the cast keep telling us it's been six weeks later. There's been no word on Padma (Dilshad Vadsaria) and Nolan (Gabriel Mann) desperately puts up all leads on his office window and detective Durand (Marcus A Ferraez) doesn't have any news for him. Daniel is angry Aiden (Barry Sloane) went ahead and invested Trask's (Burn Gorman) money, as he shows up. Daniel shows the photo to of hi and Emily to him and Trask replies they don't threaten in the second but the third dimension. So he finds out the Initiative didn't send the photo. Giving Daniel a chance to use it to his advantage. Firstly by inviting Emily to the ball and secondly by publishing it in the paper, Page Six. Oh there's another six reference. Are the writers now beginning to portray numbers as having some sort of significance in the show, well I can ponder.
Jack (nick Wechsler) calls Nolan to ask for his help as Conrad is having a press conference at the Stowaway again and Jack has helped him gain four points in the poles. Jack plays the snippet of the recording Nate made about Conrad being behind Amanda's death and wants Nolan to put it through Conrad's earwig, to get him worried. Ashley suggest the earwig so that Jack can prompt him during the Q&A session. She also suggests Conrad should wear a tie since the people want to relate to him and not have him being related to them. Jack also tells him he shouldn't refer to them as "working class." Jack can probably help them get a page 1 headline in the papers again.
Charlotte (Christa B Allen) talks to Victoria as Emily sets up the black roses ploy by taking 12 roses and snipping one off the stem. With a card saying he'll be wearing that one at the ball, "your loving son." Victoria says it's just someone who sent them to her. Later Conrad finds out and asks if she has another son. She tells him she got pregnant by one of her mother's boyfriend's but she terminated it. The flashback suggests otherwise and it's obvious Victoria wouldn't terminate one baby and have two others. He doesn't want anything getting out when he's this close to being elected. At the Q&A session, Nolan plays the tape so it plays into Conrad's earwig and phases him, prompting Jack to come to his aid.
Aiden kidnaps Trask in a bid to lead him to Padma but he takes him to her DB instead saying she wanted to be with her father and she is, but what of the video he made her record last ep? Also telling Aiden that there are motion senors so the police will be on their way and find him with one DB or two. Aiden doesn't shoot him but breaks his neck, for Padma, her father and for Colleen. So who else from the Initiative will turn up, or is that the last we'll hear of them.
Victoria thanks everyone for coming to the ball and looks out for men wearing a black rose. Emily shows up too in white with a white mask and Victoria is surprised she's here. Daniel invited her. Aiden tells Emily about Padma and she breaks the news to Nolan who is beside himself and blames everyone including Emily for what happened. He wants to be alone. Nolan referring to Aiden as the "Phantom of the opera" in his black jacket with white striped collar, beforehand. Victoria sees someone who is wearing the same jacket as Aiden and a black rose but he disappears, leading her to Aiden. Where she faints. Daniel shows how he and Emily are together as he lauds it over Aiden. Charlotte punches a girl, Regina (Seychelle Gabriel) for saying nasty things about Amanda and she can't let it go, Declan (Connor Paolo) coming to her rescue.
Conrad thinks Ashley was behind the faux paus at the conference and says she will be fired after he gets elected. It couldn't be Jack since he helped him out, but she thinks he could have done that to cover himself. Which Jack overhears. he reveals he's out to get Conrad and she wants the same thing, so recruits her to help him bring him down. She swears she had nothing to do with Amanda. Jack also reminds Victoria that Carl will grow up without his mother. Again another thing leading her to recall her abandoned baby.
Emily turns up at the house next day as she has seen Nolan and Aiden seems to be cold towards her. She thinks Daniel will find out about his past and his father since Trask put him onto him. So his stay in the Hampton's could be threatened. The way he tells Emily he's disgusted with her, oh trouble in paradise no wonder Emily gets closer to Daniel. The detective turns up to see Nolan and tells him he withheld things from him, accusing him of being the killer. As we're shown the Grayson campaign badge once again. Just as Jack showed it to Nolan before. Nolan isn't saying anything without his lawyer when the detective tells him Padma died the same day and not six weeks ago.
Victoria goes to the convent where she gave up her son and Sister Rebecca Gallagher (Myra Turley) tells her she hasn't revealed anything to anyone about him, even we he came looking for his mother. When she leaves Emily turn up feigning pregnancy to gain the sister's trust. Which was up her sleeve all along as no one knows who Victoria's son is or what happened to him. Nolan was really grieving over Padma, I just thought is she really dead, you know Aiden wouldn't really have looked and that detective looks a bit shady too.
Masquerade ball, another chance for everyone to get dressed up again and don masks cos everyone was keeping secrets behind their masks. Victoria's reply to Ashley was funny: "you're right it's just a seasonal trifle, not like yourself." There was kind of a Phantom of the Opera vibe going on with the music especially when Victoria was looking for the black rose-wearing son of hers. One of the best scenes was Emily holding Nolan when he broke down and their scenes and relationship really is the centre of the show. In another similar turn of events Jack gets Conrad unnerved whilst Emily does the same with Victoria and it's about time they really did discover they're both on the same side and are working towards the same goal.
From Emily's face couldn't tell if she was making that up about the pregnancy or if she really is pregnant, she's been with enough men! Poignant moment, Nolan telling her "I love you too." When she said she won't leave him alone.
Some great quotes this ep, Daniel when he returns Victoria the bullets, "I believe these are yours, feel free to use one for each of your two faces."
Victoria and her constant references to ghosts and not being laid to rest by anyone, a main premise of the show. "I try to keep the ghosts out but they always force their way back in." She follows the man with the rose and he leads to Aiden, could Aiden possibly be her long, lost son?
